YOUR BEST YEAR YET!

Happy NEW Year! The beginning of the year is always a time where people desire and declare change for their lives: This will be the year that I finally lose those stubborn 12 pounds. This will be the year to save money instead of finding ways to spend money. This will be the year that I let go of toxic people. And the list goes on and on.

There is something about this time of year that gets us pumped up and ready to do the things that we just didn’t get right in the previous year and for some of us the previous years. A fresh start, if you will.

But forget all that--- It is nothing compared to what I am going to do. For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland. Isaiah 43:18-19(b) NLT

But as the year goes on, we somehow seem to lose that enthusiasm and if you’re anything like me, out of that long list of things you were pumped up about in the beginning, you’d be happy to just have ONE of them come into fruition. Don’t feel bad about it. We are, however, only human. I propose a fix-all to your New Year’s resolution dissolution. Have just ONE: To Be Closer To God. “I’ve been walking with God most of my life,” you may say. Well, continue to grow closer to God, but in a different way. God is limitless. There are no ceilings in spiritual growth. How will being closer to God be a fix-all? I’m glad you asked! The wonderful thing about God is He is a lover of His own. Why would He not take care of his own? I often have to remind myself of this when I have to leave my son, MJ, in the care of others. As many of you know, he is not verbal. He can’t verbally express his wants and needs to those who care for him and moreover, he can’t tell me if something has gone wrong. So, I must trust that those whom I’ve entrusted with the care of my son are caring for him with the highest regard. But more importantly, I trust that God will take care of His own and MJ truly belongs to God.

God also has the ability to add super to your natural. Tell the truth, some of those things you want to get done are only going to happen if more hours are added to the day! Yeah I said it! You’re busy. We all are. But, in your quest to become a better you, you’re determined to reach those goals. When you are spending more time with God than anything or anyone else, you are able to do what you can only do through Him. Let it be your hearts desire and not just your Christianly duty to be as close to Him as possible and watch true transformation take place in your life.

I have personally declared that THIS YEAR, will be My Best Year Yet! I’m excited about the possibilities! I believe that for you as well. So, tell me, what would make this YOUR best year yet? The sky is truly the limit! Happy NEW Year!

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11(NIV)

  1. I love this First Lady Twanna,

One of my resolutions is [and I did say one of my, lol] because when they all fall off, from having accomplished them, I will have the next resolution (let's call it a goal) to achieve. So we call resolutions goals in our house and when we stop shooting for goals we do what you said, have another year of the same thing with no accomplishments.

So back to my first goal of 2013 - daily I will watch what I say, because my Father is listening and ready to bless me with what comes out of my mouth and because I need more to focus on than one thing, I have a small list of goals and scriptures to make this my best year YET. ;o)
    John 1:1 (KJV)
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

TAG: I love the association point you made. We have to protect who feeds us our thoughts. We have to deal in quality, because time is of the essence [no dry wasteland here]!
    Philippians 4:13 (KJV)
I CAN DO ALL things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

  2. First Lady I'm so excited that your doing the blogs again, I missed them. I believe that this is going to be my best year because I'm tired of the same thing year after year. This year my family WILL be in a home instead of an apartment, this year we will SAVE, this year we will have a second CAR. I'm believing in this. Just like the word says in my favorite scripture Jeremiah 29:11 the Lord knows the plan for me, he's going to prosper and not harm me AND give me hope & future......That is why this will be MY BEST YEAR YET
